Welcome To Orchard Cottage Breaks
A HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN THE EDEN VALLEY, A TRANQUIL CORNER OF CUMBRIA
Eden Valley Locations
Ullswater and the Eden Valley

The Eden Valley is an unspoilt area of Cumbria, away from the more crowded tourist areas nearby, yet close enough to visit the more peaceful northern lakes such as Haweswater and Martindale. Bolton is a small agricultural village which has a church, a small shop / Post Office and a pub.

Appleby-in-Westmoreland, four miles away, is a quaint town which is well worth a visit - amongst its many attractions is a castle with a most interesting rare breed centre and water fowl collection. There is good shopping, more fine eating places, a golf course, indoor swimming pool and also the annual Horsefair and Jazz Festival in the area. The famous Settle-Carlisle railway with its spectacular views, runs through the Eden Valley, stopping at Appleby. In the opposite direction is Penrith with shops, supermarkets, a large outdoor market area and a golf course.

There are also guided walks and minibus tours, the Cumbria Cycleway and horse riding and pony trekking.

The cottage is also only 15 minutes from Ullswater with steamers, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing not to mention, of course, walking and climbing in the Lake District National Park, the Pennines and the easily accessible Yorkshire Dales and the Howgills.

The location is truly perfect for everyone!
