Orchard Cottage Information

This comfortable 400 year old beamed cottage is located in the quiet village of Bolton, near Appleby in the tranquil Eden Valley. It is easy to find off the A66 Scotch Corner to Penrith road and is approximately seven miles from exit 40 on the M6 at Penrith or about thirty miles from Scotch Corner on the A1.

It has attractive gardens to the front and rear and has plenty of  parking space in front of the house. The beamed lounge / dining room has a colour TV and is comfortably furnished. There is a real fire with coal and logs provided. The kitchen is well equipped (with an electric cooker, fridge & microwave) and leads out onto a patio area with garden furniture. A cot and high chair can also be provided - please ask when booking. Non-smokers’ bookings would be given preference.

An open staircase leads up to a small landing (mind your head on the old ‘crook’ beam!) where there are two bedrooms, both with double beds (one 4’6, the other 4’). Duvets and all bed linen are provided, but you need to bring your own towels. The bathroom has a bath, shower and toilet. Cost of background heating and fuel for the fire is included in the rental price.
